Casa 72

Casa 72 was built in 1972, hence the name “72”. It´s a family house with a modern design despite the year it was built. Year by year, Casa 72 has been adapted to the San Juan del sur environment, that’s why in 2011 the Barreto´s family renovated the house completely, for vacation rental purposes.

Nowadays Casa 72 remains as a modern beach house on a hill, seconds from surf, ocean views. Situated on a hill overlooking San Juan del sur bay town, in the Gold Coast of Nicaragua, is this four thousand square feet town-house with swimming pool.

This is not a house breathing the rawness of Nicaragua, neither is it competing with the luxury American style homes that are plenty to be found in San Juan del Sur. Rather, this house has a very unique style.

Combining breezy beach vibes of white planked-wood ceilings and simplicity, with a modernistic touch created by the use of bright primary colors, abstract paintings, most of which are painted by the owners, and subtle art. It’s your favorite art gallery being brought into the comforts of your own familiar living room.

The different levels create many intimate sitting areas, leading up to the top and most authentic part of the house: a captain’s bridge-shaped area, overlooking a stunning front view of the bay. Look out the side windows and you’ll have a birds’ eye view on daily life in the picturesque streets of San Juan del Sur.

In contrast to the artistic common areas of the house, the bedrooms are clean and simple-styled, to enjoy a good rest overnight and wake up with a fresh and reset mind in the morning.

The same cleanliness and simplicity is used in the bathrooms. With hot water and AC, full comfort is provided.
